Suzuki beginner violin/viola class

Edmonton Suzuki Strings Group Classes focus on the Suzuki repertoire that the students are learning in their private lessons. They develop ensemble skills and reinforce the musical and instrumental skills from the private lesson. Music is in essence a shared art form: whether it is playing a duet, playing in an orchestra, or a performer playing for an audience, making music is a shared experience. ESS Suzuki group classes allow all participants to share the experience of music making while developing the necessary skills.

New research into sharing in group music making, especially synchronizing rhythmic actions, is being shown to develop empathy and team work across many activities. To find out about some of the fascinating research in this field see: https://livelab.mcmaster.ca/mcmaster-institute-for-music-the-mind-mimm/about-mimm/

Participation in the ESS Suzuki Group Classes is arranged by your ESS private teacher. You will be assigned to the class at the level your teacher recommends. Currently classes are held once a month online.
