Rod Olstad – violin-viola-fiddle 

Teaches  from his home in South-Central Edmonton

Violin/fiddle performer and teacher for over 30 years.  

B.A. (Music Major), RCM Gr. 10, 

Former Faculty Member of the Edmonton Society for Talent Education 2008-21.  Certified to book 5 violin. 

A founding member of the Edmonton Suzuki Strings 2021.  

Also Co-Musical Director of student fiddle groups The Edmonton Fiddlers, Festival City Fiddlers and Gateway Fiddlers  2001 to present.  

Performed some years ago now with the Edmonton Youth Orchestra and the U of A St. Cecilia Orchestra.  Also recorded and/or performed regionally, provincially, nationally and internationally with a number of musical ensembles including:  The Kubasonics, Crystal Plamondon and Ca’dien, Back Porch Swing, and Frantically Atlantic.  Other recording projects include various small production CDs for student fiddle groups and, in association with the Alberta Society of Fiddlers, “64 Fiddle Tunes Commonly Played in Alberta” and “Alberta Original Fiddle Tunes”.
